Directorate of Health Safety & Regulation, Government of Himachal Pradesh, has published an updated list of private hospitals, health institutions, and diagnostic labs empanelled for treatment and reimbursement of Himachal Pradesh Government employees, their dependents, and pensioners.

This document is prepared as per the empanelment policy of the Government of Himachal Pradesh dated 21st June 2008. The first part of the PDF contains the list of private hospitals and health institutions empanelled in Himachal Pradesh.
Empanelled hospitals in Himachal Pradesh
The revised PDF has 32 private hospitals, clinics and diagnostic institutions in the section for facilities located within Himachal Pradesh.
Each entry has the name of institution, district, approved specialty or service, date of empanelment and validity period.
The list has facilities from districts such as Shimla, Solan, Kangra, Una, Kullu, Chamba, Mandi and Hamirpur.
Not all institutions approve of the same services. Some are empanelled only for eye treatment while others provide dental, ENT, radiology or diagnostic services.
For example, the official list states that Bhalei Mata Hospital near Banikhet in Chamba district provides ophthalmology services. It has been empanelled for the period 13th March 2025 to 12th March 2027.
Two Institutions Empanelled September 2026
In the revised list, there are two entries where the date of empanelment is 7 September 2026.
Ophthalmic services have been added at Dev Bhoomi Eye Hospital, Taragarh, Baijnath, District Kangra. Its empanelment is valid from 07 September, 2026 to 06 September, 2028.
The second entry is Dr. K.S. Dogra Ear, Nose & Throat Clinic, opposite the emergency gate of Dr. R.K. Government Medical College Hospital, Hamirpur. The specialty mentioned in pdf is ENT and the empanelment is also valid from 7th September 2026 to 6th September 2028.

What Information Is Given for Each Hospital?
For each empanelled institution the government PDF lists five key details:
- Name and address of hospital or clinic
- District/State
- Specialty for which it is empanelled
- Date of empanelment
- Validity Date
This is important as inclusion in the list does not mean that all treatments offered by the hospital are covered under the empanelment.
The specialty column should be reviewed before treatment. For example, an institution listed for ophthalmology should not be automatically considered as empanelled for unrelated medical services.
Hospitals Outside Himachal Pradesh
The PDF has a separate section for private hospitals outside the Himachal Pradesh state.
According to the document, these hospitals are empanelled under Government Notification No HFW-B(A)8-1/2003(I/N) dated 13 February, 2013 for treatment of HP Government employees, their dependents and pensioners.
The reimbursement rates for these institutions are restricted to applicable CGHS NABH/NABL approved rates of the concerned city as per the document.
The outside state part has hospitals of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and other places with their approved medical specialties and validity periods.
Government Health Institutions
The first page of the document further states Government Medical and Dental Colleges, health institutions and diagnostic laboratories established by the Ministry of Health, Government of India, State Governments and other government bodies or agencies are considered to be empanelled automatically under the policy.

Check Validity Before Treatment
The validity period varies depending on the private institution mentioned. Some expire in 2026 while others are good through 2027 or 2028.
Employees and pensioners of the government using the list for treatment or reimbursement should check the current validity date of the hospital and the specialty mentioned against its name.
